## Multi-Clock PCB for debugging retro PC boards

I created this 2-layer PCB based on the original debugging clock generator designed by [Ben Eater](https://eater.net/8bit/clock). This board can generate a 5v clock signal ranging from <1 second to about 1000 Hz using a dial, as well as single step the clock with a push button.

The output of this circuit is useful when debugging or developing a clocked circuit like a retro PC board. I plan to use this to single step several 8-bit computer boards that I'm working on, including an Apple 1 design. It is a little overkill to use 555 timers for things like debouncing buttons and switches, but very cool to do just for the sake of it.

I used the latest [version 9 of KiCad](https://www.kicad.org/blog/2025/02/Version-9.0.0-Released/) for this board for the first time, which went very well. I'm impressed with the capabilites of this software which is free to use for this purpose. I highly recommend you try it out!
